Additional learning support

At Lugarno Public School, every student’s learning journey is valued and supported. Our dedicated team works in partnership with families to create an inclusive environment where learners are empowered to discover their strengths, overcome challenges, and achieve their personal best. Through innovative programs, tailored support, and a commitment to nurturing the whole child, we ensure all students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

  • Small group tutoring focused on literacy and numeracy skills

  • Regular check-ins to review and update support plans

Adjustments to classrooms includes

  • Extra guidance, simpler content, or different lesson focuses
Assessment adjustments includes
  • Additional time

  • Alternative ways to demonstrate learning (like oral presentations instead of written work)
We identify when a student might need extra support through

Parent of a student at Lugarno Public School

"I just wanted to take a moment to sincerely thank you for the time, care and advocacy you have shown towards our daughter. I really appreciate you taking the time to conduct assessments to help identify where she is experiencing difficulties, particularly with processing reading and maths. It means so much to us to know that you are looking beyond the surface and trying to understand how she learns and where she needs additional support.

Your willingness to advocate for her and work towards understanding her individual needs is incredibly reassuring. As a parent, it can be difficult to know exactly what is happening when your child is struggling at school, so having you both take the time to investigate and provide some clarity is truly appreciated.

Thank you for your patience, compassion and commitment to helping her feel more confident and supported in her learning. We are very grateful to have people in her corner who are willing to listen, investigate and advocate for her.

Thank you again for everything you are doing. It really does mean a lot to our family"
